Rules, scoring & FAQ

📋

The Draft

Each participant drafts a set of NCAA tournament teams in a snake draft format. Draft order is randomized and then reversed each round — so whoever picks first in round 1 picks last in round 2, and so on.

Once the draft is complete, every team in the bracket is owned by someone in the pool. You root for your teams to win games — and beat the spread.

🪓

Covering & Getting AX'd

How do I advance in the bracket?

Your drafted teams advance by covering the spread. Spreads are set daily and gathered from the Odds API based on live Vegas lines. If your team covers, they move on to the next round and stay yours.

What happens if my team doesn't cover?

You get the AX. If your team fails to cover the spread, the person who drafted the underdog takes your team going forward. For example: you own #1 Duke and they're -8.5 against #8 Memphis. Duke wins by 6 — they didn't cover. The owner of Memphis now takes Duke for the rest of the tournament.

What happens if a game lands exactly on the spread (a push)?

A push goes to the underdog. If the game lands exactly on the spread, the underdog owner takes the team — just like not covering.

The Bracket

Where can I see the bracket?

Head to the Bracket page. It shows all 64 teams, their seeds, point spreads for each matchup, and live scores as games are played.

How are spreads shown?

Between each pair of teams you'll see the Vegas line — e.g. Connecticut -3.5 means UConn is a 3.5-point favorite. PK means it's a pick'em (no spread).Line TBD means lines haven't opened yet.

How often is the bracket updated?

The bracket updates automatically. Scores, spreads, and ownership changes are synced in real time as games are played.
